Go deep; the aquarius current is...current.

In November 2011, the first year fashion students at the American University in the Emirates (AUE) organized a fashion show at Dubai’s Atlantis Hotel. Underwater.  The divers swam in the hotel's Ambassador Lagoon sharing the stage with hundreds of different marine life. You can read more about it here. 

This really is super progressive and creative. Like.. the sky is not the limit and neither is the sea

It's crazy! We have been seeing a lot of underwater references in the fashion shows and online  lately and even Discountuniverse has a whole post about sea punks (read here).I guess it's the whole apprehensiveness about the 2012 end of the world and also talk about how we are nearing the age of the aquarius. Also, I think youths in general are so much more aware about things now through the internet and are starting to be pro-active about their beliefs. I always  believe that fashion is a very strong gauge of the culture around it and whatever is affeting society will be shown through clothes.

I don't know what you think about conspiracy theories and new age talk..

Is it a whole bunch of coincidence or could there be this sub current that is tying up everything that is happening around us... hmmm aliens.

So this is a quick collage of what certain things bring to mind. Seriously though, I should take some time to do a better one, but you get my drift. Sometimes 2 pictures speak 1,000 words better than one.

And finally, an artist that I chanced upon online that goes by the name of Itzel Xoco (like girllllll why are you not famous yet?!) , her work is soooooo amazing. There is nothing you cannot love about it...So much infusion and textures and colour..it's absolutely out of this world. I don't know about you but I would be so much happier walking around a city filled with murals with her artwork than plain grey walls but I guess that may be too much and so..that's really just me.

Her art-work reminds me of a Francesca Lia Block novel illustrated in a neo-print machine. It is mythical, urban, tropical, trippy, swagged out...super loca loca ...judge for yourself.
